AstraZeneca signs a master research collaboration with the Manning Institute

The Paul & Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology is already operating — a year before its doors open.

In January 2026, AstraZeneca signed a master research collaboration with the Paul & Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology. The 350,000-square-foot institute at Fontaine Research Park topped out in October 2025 and opens in 2027.

Manning is already operating virtually with active research. Its SPARK Tank 2026 competition drew more than 40 entries and named six faculty winners at $50,000 each. The institute will house research, cGMP manufacturing for cell and gene therapy, clinical trials and patient care across five therapeutic areas.
