The Schools · where founders come from
School of Continuing and Professional Studies
UVA’s widest footprint, and the school most likely to meet a founder already running something.
6locations across Virginia
Overview
SCPS serves working adults — degree completion, professional certificates and career accelerators, online and in person. It teaches from Abingdon in the far southwest to Virginia Beach on the coast, which makes it the only UVA school physically present in six places at once. Its students are, on average, further into a career than anyone else’s.
- Locations in Abingdon, Charlottesville, Falls Church, Richmond, Roanoke and Virginia Beach
- Bachelor’s degree completion for working adults, part-time and online
- Professional certificates in leadership, project management, technology, accounting and public administration
- Teaches in Northern Virginia alongside eight other UVA schools
- No named entrepreneurship program yet — the widest reach on this row, and the thinnest connection to the rest of the map
