The Commonwealth BioAccelerator — the region’s first wet-lab accelerator, operated with CvilleBioHub at North Fork — launched on a $4.3M GO Virginia grant within a $7.5M package. In 2025, state, UVA and regional partners expanded it to more than $15M.
Its first cohort brought six life-science ventures into the lab, with BUILT Biotechnologies as the anchor company. It is where UVA science becomes Virginia payroll.
